I'm still deep in the writing hole, but...

Look at the size of this rat caught (alive? the article wasn't clear) in Beijing. The age of monsters isn't quite over yet.

Can you post a link to the article?

Thanks,

Around New Orleans, they are called 'nutria' which of course sounds better than 'big fucking rat'.

There was an episode of Dave Attell's INSOMNIAC show where he rode around in the back of a truck with guys spotlighting them.

They're like something from Transmet.

And this other story is also weird and cool:

Thanks for the links.

Nutria actually are a completely different animal from rats (nutria have orange teeth), but are still a pest. They are such a problem in Louisiana that people have come up with recipes for cooking them up delicious in the hopes that if people are eating them their population will decline.

So are you procrastinating from writing by browsing the internet for random shit?
I do that far too often myself.

Is this really Dan? Where the hell have you been?

Yes it's really me. And to prove it I'll co-sign for the furniture for your new home. (Sorry folks, private joke.) How can we connect without others knowing our business? Not being rude to my fellow bloggers but Bill and I go waaaay back at least 24 yrs and I'd like to catch up. But I will say this: I'm retired. (Retired not retarted!) Have been for 4 yrs. now and married to Robin(you remember her). We will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary this May. I first wrote you as a comment on the "Fine Fellows" blog for Jeannette Kahn.

Buttercup: What about the R.O.U.S.'s?
Westley: Rodents of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist.
[Immediately, an R.O.U.S. attacks him]

Now we know where they originated! Who knew?!

Come on, Smeddy. After one hit and run appearance, you aren't going to disappear for another twenty years now. I'm almost out of funny Smeddy anecdotes to tell. You need to provide me with more material.

Either than or I tell the tale you begged me never to speak of again -- that's right, I'm talking about the Toronto trip.

I sent you a PM on the Clockwork website. I am NOT computer literate, so I don't know if you got it or not. Toronto,eh? Which story will you tell: the Celebrity Lockjaw Victims Cookbook hunt or "Mrs. Willingham"? Oh, I know! The terrifing high ride over the fairgrounds. take your pick!
