1) Be careful about the publishers you work with, but finish the jobs you do take on time.
2) Surround yourself with talented people who can make up for your deficiencies in same.
3) Don't let yourself get talked into restarting your creator-owned series again at # 1.

I thought that the re-start of the "elementals" series was very successul (at least from a reader's perspective). Is it that to which you might be referring in this post?
If you might be willing, I would be very interested to know your current thoughts, if any, about that property. (The last I read, I believe you said that a man named Anderw Rev owned it, would never sell it, and that you would never have any involvement with it again.) As a big fan ("Pantheon," too), I hold out hope that that might change some day.
He's a radical inactivist who's written a veritable boatload of comic books, including Elementals, Robin, Shadowpact, Pantheon, and the multiple award winning (not to mention multiple award losing) Fables. His novels include Peter and Max and the forthcoming Down the Mysterly River. He also has a few short prose stories published here and there.
